AMFW - Part II

Aisha Obuobi presented, Xutra, the new collection for her now established label, Christie Brown. They gave the definition of "xutra", which is "a forced control in structure emphasizing sophistication and complexity" and "an honest, back-to-basics representation of function and fashion". What more can I say !

Hazell Aggrey-Orleans also presented the Autumn/Winter '12 collection for Eki Orleans, Nostalgia. Here's what is said about the emergence of such a line and its slightly rounded shapes on the Facebook page:
During the creation stage for this collection, Hazel found inspiration in objects that symbolized music and movement. Through exploring the rich history of Africa, Hazel was quite taken with the calabash musical instrument and its importance in African culture.

Lanre Da Silva Ajayi's A/W '12 creations seem to be living a second life; the complexity of the garments and the simple silhouettes somewhat create that very elegant vintage atmosphere.

Tiffany Amber also mixed the materials, creating upon silk, sequin, lace, and I loved that drapped cloth. The collection is properly called "Métissage", which is french for "crossbreeding". Also, she had international top model Alek Wek walk down the runway.

The DPiper twins revealed a young and promising line for their clothing label Kastle Designs, which goes along a jewellery line, Treasure Chest.
