Ghubar

Ghubar Mag -
A rising webzine about culture, art and fashion of course, basing around the cultural mix of our society. For the September issue, all eyes on the Motherland, with three different gorgeous covers. It will be available online on the 5th.

I really can't wait for Ghubar to land on newsstands ! Props to Mario Epanya for the shots.

This is no ending !

Well.. Vogue Africa is not going to appear on newsstands anytime soon.
Indeed, Condé Nast, the publishing conglomerate that takes care of Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, GQ, Teen Vogue and Vogue among others, officially said no to a licence that would make my dream come true, in spite of Mario Epanya's wonderful work.. You wonder why ?! Humm, that's a very good question which answer remains unknown.

I really do not understand what the problem is. Africa's fashion scene is being recognized in the whole fashion world for being innovative and knowing how to blend freshness, classiness and some touches of tradition. From now on, Condé Nast shouldn't pretend to promote innovation anymore. Whoever did not get that Africa fashion sense was the future.. should definately review its standards.

To be continued..

Vogue Africa - Not just a dream

Is my dream becoming a reality?? Well, Mario Epanya, awesome photographer based in Paris, FR is building its shape by imagining covers for the fictitious magazine. I was sooo excited when I saw the flicks but a bit sad that I had no way to participate in that project!
These are really stunning covers, showing that hey, it's possible! And he keeps making imaginary covers! Stay tuned on his blog: marioepanyaphotography.blogspot.com .
