Julien Fournié gave us, what to me was, the most bold and beautiful runway show of this year's Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris.
And with good cause: the young designer paid a colorful tribute to the Black woman. Fluid shapes, brightness, afros everywhere, exclusively presented by black models.
It was worthy of the last African Fashion Week in Jo'burg.
So dear Mr Fournié, THANK YOU.
J'ai trouvé ca bof c'est pas parce qu'il alignait que des models Noirs que ca change grand chose pour moi . Il l'a fait en sachant bien sur que cela allait créé le buzz rien de plus .

Aujourd'hui en 2011, y'a que le buzz qui marche ! L'essentiel est que quelqu'un l'ait fait. Entre lui et ses mannequins noirs, et JP Gaultier et son mannequin transsexuel, l'industrie montre qu'elle veut délier les langues.
ReplyDeleteEt puis si ça a pu lui ouvrir les portes d'un nouveau marché, c'était un très joli coup marketing.

I love the idea ! The people who talk about creating a buzz do not realize how risky this was for a young couturier. Julien Fournie has taken options. Ciongratulations ! His dresses and outfits are just splendid and they are made even more beautoiful worn by these black beauties... everything else seems to me to be an expression of jealousy. Thois designer really has talent and thinks that haute couture should have messages to convey to the entire human society. On top of it all, the show is fun (watch it ion Youtube), light and fulkl of energy, and his style is just amazing. BRAVO !
